Today I had the opportunity to learn how to use a new online learning tool which is called Moodle through the Auckland University. I also had the opportunity to meet a range of teachers from different backgrounds and different walks of life.
Today I had the chance to teach other teachers how to use their laptops and use online tools and use the knowledge that I had learnt on my practice as a 1:1 digital immersion teacher. We started of by learning how to do online discussions with each other and how to converse with each other and introduce ourselves via Moodle.
- We looked at Teaching as Inquiry model: Spiral model.
- We also looked at how to create an online e-portfolio as a form of evidence to show our teaching and learning.
- Looking at evidence and how to show what children know and where they have come from such as target children.-(Learning books, photos, KWL charts, Inquiry question/focus group, )
- Collegial discussions with each others.
- Being a reflective teaching-Effective teaching pedagogy and Inquiry as Teaching-Best practice is when teachers inquire in their learning and are continually reflecting in their practice.
- What might I change that I can do differently to be able to engage children more in their learning.
- Reflection-Short piece about what happened, what it means to you and what will you now do.
Being a reflective teacher is really important in the teaching profession as we are life long leaners.
As a teacher I reflect on my teaching on a regular basis and look at the things that worked well and what I need to work on. I also research on areas of my teaching that I need more help and support in and also different strategies and tools.
