The Incredible years Teachers Programme.

In Week 2 myself and another colleague attended our first Incredible years Teachers Programme. It was a fantastic day where I got to meet wonderful teachers from different walks of life as well as  experiences from different schools come together. Below I have included a Video about what the Incredible Years Teachers programme looks like. It has surely been an insightful experience for myself and I am surely looking forward to many more sessions to come.

                             

Some of the questions we talked about as a team were:
        1: What are these children with difficult behaviours like in class?
        2:   How do you think these children feel about themselves?
         3:   How do children feel and behave towards these students?
         4:Why is it difficult to get to know these children?

In reflection on the things that I leant during my first IYT session as well as guidance from my mentor and reading I have applied this knowledge and started to build better relationships with the students in my class.  I have found that the children;s behaviour has decreased as well as they are more motivated and inspired to learn more in the classroom. I have also built better relationships where the children feel safe in the classroom and feel happy to come to school everyday. I have also built trust with the children where they are coming to me more and opening up and talking more to me about what is upsetting them and they feel comfortable in my presence and talking to with. They are more emotionally connected in themselves.

I am definitely looking forward to my other IYT sessions to come.
